Hi! My name is Crystin. I am a "homemaker" in training I suppose. My resume is pretty extensive. I am currently an {okay} cook, a boo boo kisser, a playmate, a jungle gym, bug catcher, butt wiper... I think I'm missing butcher, {I'm not a} baker, and candle stick maker. We will put a pin in that. I am a stay at home mom to two boys and a wife to a pretty awesome husband who thinks I'm pretty awesome too. I love learning new things, tricks, tips, recipes, cleaning technique. I really love being a Home Maker and I am always still learning. I have a strange sense of humor sometimes but I always try to be honest. Motherhood is hard and I am doing the best I can with what I have. A mother's life is dirty, messy, fun, silly, pretty gross sometimes...it's exhausting, enjoyable and all in all, a darn good time.

Christmas Trees

This idea came to when I was deciding what I was going to do with the huge pile of christmas tree trimmings we have outside. I thought this was so cute. The boys were also excited to decorate their own christmas tree considering that the real tree decoration was such a plethora of ridiculousness!

You will need:
Toilet paper tube
markers
tree trimmings
poof ball
craft stick
glue stick
scissors
pipe cleaners, beads, glitter etc...for decorating

I started by poking/cutting holes in the toilet paper tube so the trimmings could be shoved inside. I gathered up a bunch of trimmings and cut them to size.

The boys then colored their tubes with whatever colors they wanted.  They shoved the trimmings in the holes in no order whatsoever and I fluffed them up a bit....considering they looked like a hot mess :) lol I guess that's the beauty of kid crafts huh?

We then took pipe cleaners and strung some beads for "lights and garland"... I wanted to glue pom poms for ornaments and use some glitter on the branches...but when I realized what a task this was with luke...I changed my mind.

For a star, I took a craft stick and glued a bright glittery pom pom on the top and had the boys shove it down in the tube. It stuck really well because all in the tube was the bottoms of the trimmings so it held it in place.

I "strung" the garland and lights around the tree and tied them at the end.

well, there they are in all their "glory" haha! The boys had fun doing this craft...Lucas LOVED stringing beads, so we will probably make some bracelets later today. This was a silly way to use up some old trimmings and get the boys' hands going this morning.

hee hee thanks! They look so funny I look at them and giggle. It's a good craft because Lucas was able to participate. Usually I just wait til he goes to bed. He had fun.
